Shannon Akshar and her husband opened The Saucy Cup on November 1st, 2025. This hot new coffee shop is located on 48 Mountainview Boulevard in Wayne, New Jersey. They are open from 7 am to 3 pm all week, except on Tuesdays.

Since opening, The Saucy Cup has received an overwhelming amount of support. Bella Granato, a sophomore at Wayne Valley, shares, “I would go back to The Saucy Cup when the lines die down a bit, because, besides the long wait, the coffee itself was very good.”

The Saucy Cup serves a variety of different drinks, including coffee, milk tea, matcha blends, and specialty lattes, while also offering appetisers, soups, salads, pasta, and pastries. Some of the different syrups they offer include baklava, pistachio, vanilla, caramel, cookie butter, lavender, caramel miso, mocha, cinnamon social, brown sugar, white chocolate, hazelnut, blueberry, strawberry, and banana. “I got the tiramisu latte… I really want to try some of their food. I loved the coffee and would like to try some of the different types,” says Wayne Valley sophomore, Gracie Turro.

The Saucy Cup is different from most coffee shops because all of the foods and drinks they serve are halal. This means that they are allowed under Islamic law for Muslims to consume.

Overall, The Saucy Cup has received great reviews on their drinks and food itself. The Saucy Cup is a great new addition to Wayne, and if you don’t mind a wait, it can become your newest go-to coffee shop. As they say, “More than coffee—It’s Saucy.”
