Review of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

The highly anticipated sequel to Marvel’s, Doctor Strange, is out and reviews are in! Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, directed by Sam Raimi, is an action thriller that takes the viewer on an adventure through a multitude of dimensions accompanied by Marvel Studios’ iconic and witty writing. Without getting into spoilers, the film follows Dr. Stephen Strange on a quest to save a young girl, America Chavez, from a corrupt and desperate antagonist. Although the premise of the film is rather basic, Sam Raimi is able to create beautiful alternative worlds and cityscapes throughout the movie, with each universe having its own individual story. Despite the fact that the writing throughout the film was similar to that of any other superhero film, the sequel really shines through with its pace, sequence, humor, and of course, action.

While that is only my opinion, we asked a couple of Wayne Valley’s students about their thoughts on the film. Sophomore, Alex Marte said, “I feel as if people mistook the amazing cameos for the quality of the movie itself.” Alex’s criticism holds a very detailed perspective, as the film features many cameos that add to the entertainment. Along with reviews, we also asked students of Wayne Valley for their ratings on the film to gather a general consensus around the movie. After averaging out ten reviews, we came to the conclusion that the general grade of this movie through the perspective of Wayne Valley was a 6.8/10! Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is still in theaters, and is a great pick for anybody interested in action movies!
