The 76th Annual Met Gala, a highly anticipated event in the world of fashion and entertainment, took place on May 6, 2024. The stars of the silver screen and the fashion world converged to showcase their unique and stunning looks. This year’s theme, “Garden of Time,” was a perfect match for the new exhibition, “Sleeping Beauties: Rewakening Fashion,” which featured 250 rare clothing items spanning over 400 years of fashion. The exhibition, a tribute to the natural world, was centered around land, sea, and sky. 

The gala was hosted by a diverse group of celebrities, including Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, and Chris Hemsworth. Stars from all walks of fame, be it Hollywood, music, or fashion, came together to celebrate and promote the new exhibit. Over 450 designers and famous muses showcased their designs, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the event. The annual attendance of stars like Blake Lively, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Gigi Hadid, known for their unique and highly anticipated looks, further added to the excitement. 

A poll held in Wayne Valley pointed out that a new attendee, rising artist Tyla had the best Met Gala look of the year. Her dress was made out of “sand” to play off of the time aspect of the theme. It was extremely fitted and long to accentuate her figure. Balmain made the dress and sent workers to physically carry her up each step of the carpet. 

The Met Gala is an exclusive event held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where celebrities gather to enjoy the opening of new exhibits. The event enforces strict protocols each year, including a no-phone policy to ensure the privacy of the attendees.
