Truly Spooky Halloween Attractions

Halloween is just around the corner, which makes it a great time to experience spooky events with friends and family. There are tons of options when it comes to Halloween activities. You can choose to go to haunted houses and hayrides, or stick to fall festivities that do not include being frightened, if that is your preference.

For people who enjoy being spooked by actors and props, the Brighton Asylum in Passaic is a popular location, which brings in many people every year during Halloween time. Guests are able to get interactive in this attraction, with escape rooms which make you feel as if you are trapped in a horror movie. In fact, this asylum is named New Jersey’s number one haunted attraction at the moment, and is open all year round if you’re looking for a scare.

Another attraction for people who are looking to have a hair-raising night is the Bane haunted house located in Livingston. This house also allows for guests to be interactive in order to find their way out of bone-chilling scenarios. The site has also renovated a portion of their haunted walkthrough, creating a creepier atmosphere for guests.

If you are someone who doesn’t find interest in eerie attractions, there are places that pay tribute to Halloween in a lighter manner. For instance, the Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze in Croton-on-Hudson, NY, is an artistic exhibit displaying various Halloween figures made out of carved pumpkins, lit up to create beautiful structures that people from all over the tri-state area come eager to see. Autumn foods and beverages are also served at this event including apple cider, pumpkin treats, and other baked delights.

There are also Fall festivals and fairs, such as Tranquility Farms located in Allamuchy, NJ, which are great for family day trips. These fairs include food, merchandise, and activities for kids like petting zoos and carnival rides. Some of the fairs around New Jersey also include apple and pumpkin picking, which is always a popular thing to do around Halloween time.

There are many things to do during this time of year to celebrate the great holiday of Halloween.  So get together with some friends and family, go to a haunted house or a county fair, and have a happy Halloween!
