Get ready, because DECA’s first competition is being held in school on December 8th. This year, DECA is filled with new students, leaving the club with around 150 members. DECA students have officially chosen their test topic from around 30 available events. The seven categories of tests are Business Administration Core, Business Management & Administration, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Hospitality & Tourism, Marketing, and finally Personal Financial Literacy. The test takes place on December 8th in Wayne Valley, in the morning for last names A-L and in the afternoon for last names M-Z. Students are not required to wear business attire, but they will be when attending the official Role Play event. All members must complete the test to go on the Ramapo Field trip in January of 2026. Mrs. Brown and board members have offered five days of lunch-time meetings to inform first-year members what the Role Play event will look like. Students will participate in their Role Play Event at Ramapo College on January 12, 2026. This trip is always a lot of fun and a great experience. Otherwise, Wayne Valley DECA holds its first fundraiser at the Chipotle located on Hamburg Turnpike on December 10th. We look forward to a great competition season and learning more about business in DECA.
