Take this class is a column where students introduce different classes we offer here at Wayne Valley. Written by actual students of the class, these reviews offer a real insight into the electives, APs, and dual enrollment classes offered!
One reason people move to Wayne is for their school district. From their neighborhood schools to the larger middle and high schools, Wayne has a lot to offer. Even with state ranked schools, some people tend to compare Wayne Valley to other high schools in the area. Our curriculum, electives, and educational opportunities keep growing!
Wayne Valley has about 24 APs courses for students to choose and they have multiple dual enrollment classes. Many of the private schools in our area have under 20 AP classes and little to no dual enrollment classes.
Students also have the opportunity to follow a career or interest track with things like TV productions, computer science, fashion, automotive technology, child development, and more. If they are unsure of a career path, there are many electives to help them explore! Finally, students can jump start their careers their senior year with senior internships and work study programs.
Last year’s graduating class is a testament to that curriculum and the district’s offerings. Many students went on to prestigious colleges including, but not limited to, Princeton, Harvard, Drew, FIT, Northeastern, Temple, Stevens, NJIT, University of Pittsburgh, University of Connecticut, University of Delaware, and University of Michigan. In addition, many students have enrolled in state colleges like Rutgers, Montclair, and TCNJ.
