Emphasis Creative Writing Contest

Francesca DiGiovanni, Staff Writer

This spring, the Emphasis Spring Creative Writing Contest is starting up! This contest is for anyone at Wayne Valley who is interested in submitting a writing piece that falls under the genre of poetry, short fiction, or nonfiction. You do not have to be in the Emphasis club to participate. This contest is a great way to practice writing skills and to try something new. Each winner can get their work published as well as a cash prize for winning. The overall winner gets $20, first place for each category gets $15, second place gets $10, and third gets $5. These winners and honorable mentions will be chosen by Mrs. Solomon, as well as the Editor-In-Chief and the Junior Editor. The deadline for submissions is approaching very quickly, the last day for submissions is March 24. If you’re going to submit a writing piece, make sure you email [email protected] as soon as possible!
