Clemson Softball

In the world of college softball, a new powerhouse is on the rise in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Clemson University Softball, in their inaugural year, has taken Division I softball by storm. With a current record of 14-7, the Clemson softball team is quickly overcoming all of the adversity of being a first-year team. So far, they’ve defeated St. John’s University twice with final scores of 6-2 and 19-9. In addition to this, Clemson beat the University of Maryland twice with final scores of 5-1 and 21-2; Michigan State also fell under their wrath recently, defeated by the scores of 2-1 and 8-4. After tacking on one more 8-0 win against Western Carolina University, Clemson totaled seven wins in the first two weeks of the season. Clemson’s most recent win comes from defeating the powerhouse Georgia State University with a score of 4-1.

The Clemson Tigers are only a month into the college softball season, and their roar can already be heard across their conference. Is this fuel enough to push them into the playoffs? Or is this just “beginners’ luck”? Clemson’s regular season will conclude on April 26th, and after that, the playoff-hopeful team can only imagine the possibilities.
