The Best Streaming Service for You

Everybody loves a good TV show or movie, and as 2019 concludes with the rest of the decade, three popular streaming services have become very well known. The beloved Netflix, Hulu, and the new addition of Disney+ have been subscribed to by millions, and are the perfect entertainment activity for a rainy or snowy day. However, recently there has been a debate over which brand you should select, when they all offer the same thing. Each service has popular shows and movies for your entertainment. Although they all may seem the same, there are various differences that might just lead you to your answer.

Netflix has been around since 1998 and has been one of the go-to streaming services. Netflix has a large selection of different movies and TV shows of all types of genres including comedy, horror, romance, family, and more. It also has a large variety of classic TV shows that everyone enjoys. Netflix is known for their original shows and movies that can only be found on their streaming service, such as a spinoff of the 1987 show Full House, made into the 2016 show Fuller House, and their original movies such as The Kissing Booth and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. Additionally, Netflix has no ads which allows viewers to enjoy their films 24/7, 365 days a year. Netflix charges $8.99 per month for their basic plan (only one viewer at a time), $12.99 per month for their standard plan (two viewers at a time, HD quality), and $15.99 per month for their premium plan (4 viewers at a time, ultra HD quality).

Hulu, is similar to Netflix as they have a wide selection of movies and TV shows for everyone’s liking. The difference between Hulu and Netflix is that Hulu includes ads. However, Hulu has more current TV shows available to watch that would appeal to many viewers, especially the younger generation. On the other hand, Hulu also has less movies than Netflix provides. Hulu has many shows that aren’t on Netflix or have been taken off, such as the well known Drake and Josh and One Tree Hill. Like Netlflix, Hulu has original series and movies that can only be found through their company. Hulu charges $5.99 per month for their basic level, and $11.99 for Hulu premium, which is ad free. They also offer the basic or premium plan with Live TV,  which can be $49.99 or $50.99 per month.

Disney+ is the most recent streaming service that was added this year. Disney fans everywhere have been obsessing over this new service, as Disney+ includes every disney movie and TV show that has been made. This includes films from Marvel, Lucasfilm, Pixar, and National Geographic, and only costs $7 per month or $70 for a year with no ads. Additionally, if you have a wireless plan with Verizon, you get Disney+ free for the first year. The nostalgic shows and movies go as far back as the 1930s, starting with the original Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in 1938. Disney+ also allows viewers to stream the new and original series, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. For those who want to take a trip back to their childhood, the service includes 2000s kids’ favorite shows such as Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, Shake it Up, and many more.

Overall, the three of these streaming services, Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+, have different features that appeal to each and every type viewer. By looking at the elements of each service, you can find the best one for you. Not everyone might appeal to you but it is important to know your options.
