Good writing possesses magnetism; good writing commands attention. AP Language provides the moves writers have at their disposal to execute writing (prose) that excites, persuades, provokes, and startles. This elective course will take you behind the writer’s curtain, revealing what all strong writers know and employ. Master writers will guide our exploration of the craft, yes, but a strong emphasis is on application–you will have many opportunities to write creatively, focusing on nonfiction. You will learn from your peers as they will learn from you, ultimately discovering that the most accomplished kind of writing engages in a kind of “soul-leading”–a soul, through language, leading other souls. AP Language and Composition is a junior and senior full year class (5 credits). See you next year.
