Athlete Spotlight: Jennifer Howarth and Isabella Isaacson

“Wayne Valley Volleyball has been the best thing that’s happened to me throughout my four high school years,” says senior Jennifer Howarth, captain of the Wayne Valley Girls Volleyball team. “The people I have met and the places I have been to is something I will always be grateful for and it was an amazing experience.”

Howarth was introduced to volleyball in middle school, but it wasn’t until she joined the Wayne Valley Volleyball team, where she realized how much she loved playing and being a part of the sport. Since the start of the 2021 season, she has earned 17 aces, 3 assists, 44 kills, 8 blocks, and 19 digs.

Alongside Howarth, her senior co-captain Isabella Isaacson, has helped lead the group to become one powerhouse of a team. Under the coaching of phys-ed and health teacher, Mr. Carcich, Isaacson states, “Carcich has pushed me to be the best player [and] person I can be and has believed in me from the very beginning.”

Like Howarth, Isaacson began playing volleyball during her freshman year. Since then, the sport has taught her that hard work does pay off. From the start of the season, she has racked up 9 aces, 177 assists, 4 kills, 1 block, and 14 digs.

Both Jennifer Howarth and Isabella Isaacson have reached astounding goals during previous years and we look forward to seeing their accomplishments as the season finishes up!
