All Marvel movie lovers know who the Avengers are. While some might have not followed the Avengers since their debut in 2012, most have at least heard of them. Now, in their latest movie, Avengers: Endgame, which hit the big screens in 2019, some mind blowing and heart wrenching events took place throughout the film. Iron Man’s untimely death broke the hearts of thousands of fans. Captain America handed over his shield to his long time friend Sam Wilson which shocked and confused several viewers. Black Widow even sacrificed herself in order for the Avengers to gain the soul stone. The list goes on but those were the main heart shattering deaths that appeared in the movie. The big question is, with all these main characters gone, what will happen to Avengers after the Endgame?

I talked with a Junior here at Wayne Valley who has been following the Avengers since the beginning and he gave me some interesting insight. He explained to me that “The Avengers won’t be used except as a reference; we won’t see the group come together until phase 5. I think that Iron Man has affected spider-man and we can see him as becoming the new iron man and we will get to see a lot of the future of the Captain America role in the Falcon and Winter Soldier show. Falcon will become the new Captain while Bucky is like a partner and maybe become Captain America at the end.” It was interesting when Steve Rogers handed over his shield to Sam Wilson (Falcon) and not James Barnes (Bucky) who he has known his he was younger and before he became a super soldier, but that is a decision made by writers we can never know for sure.

Marvel however did announce a few upcoming movies for 2020 and 2021, such as:

• Black Widow, her first ever solo film. Which will be arriving in theatres on May 1, 2020
• The Eternals, which will be in theatres on November 6, 2020
• Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which will be hitting theatres on May 7, 2021
• Thor: Love and Thunder, which will be the first every female Thor movie, it’ll be hitting the big screens on November 5, 2021

There are definitely more movies coming out in the years 2020 and 2021 but those listed above are some of the more popular ones that have been announced. However, a big question still hangs in the air, What’s going to  happen next? We are all just gonna have to wait and find out.
