Summer Recipes

The summer season is upon us and what better way to enjoy the warm weather and long relaxing days than some refreshing summer recipes. From fruity homemade popsicles to a sweet s’mores treat, there’s a recipe for everyone to enjoy this summer.

The first delicious recipe is a fruit and yogurt swirl popsicle. In order to make this treat you will need, 1 lb. of fresh or frozen fruit, 2 tbsp. of sugar (only if you decide to use fresh fruit), 2 cups of vanilla yogurt, ice pop mold, and finally some ice pop sticks. First add the fruit and sugar into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Next pour into a plastic bag and cut the corner off to act as a squeeze bottle, do the same with the vanilla yogurt in a separate bag. Then alternately squeeze the yogurt and fruit puree into the molds to create swirls. Place the sticks into the molds and freeze overnight. Enjoy these popsicles at a summer party, while lounging poolside, or just as a cool snack on a hot day!

This next recipe is perfect for s’more lovers and anyone with a sweet tooth. The ingredients needed are 3 tbsp. of butter, a package of mini marshmallows, 7 cups of Golden Grahams cereal, and 3 Hershey’s milk chocolate bars broken into pieces. To start, grease a 9×13 pan with butter. Over medium to low heat, heat the butter until it is melted in a large pot and add the bag of marshmallows (leaving aside 1 cup) and stir until melted. Then turn off the heat and quickly mix in the cereal until evenly coated, press into the pan and top it with chocolate pieces and the cup of marshmallows that was left aside. Heat broiler and heat for 2 minutes, then let it sit for 30 minutes, slice, and finally serve your tasty dessert.

When it is a hot summer day, all anyone wants is a refreshingly cold ice cream sandwich. There is a fun easy way to enjoy ice cream sandwiches at your own home, using ingredients you may have in your house! The only ingredients for this recipe is a pint ice cream of your choice, cookies, and a large knife. The first step is to microwave the cookies for 10 seconds, to get them warm, soft, and gooey. The next step is to cut the pint of ice cream (with the cover still on) into slices. The third step is to put the ice cream in between the cookies, and peel off the outer layer! This is an extremely easy way to make yummy ice cream sandwiches at home.

Whether you’re looking for a frozen treat, a hot gooey chocolate mess, or a combination of both, any of these recipes are perfect for a hot summer day.
