Harlem Magic Masters Charity Basketball Game

Township residents and teachers faced off against the Harlem Magic Masters last Friday in the annual charity basketball game sponsored by the Wayne Alliance for the Prevention of Substance Abuse! This charity is committed to keeping our town drug free by sponsoring key programs and initiatives to help keep adults, and children off drugs.

Doors opened at the Wayne Valley High School gym at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $12 for adults and $10 and much of the proceeds goes to the Alliance. Kids played basketball and listened to music before the game started. During the game, the Magic Masters performed tricks and pranks that entertained all! The residents and teachers tried their best but in the end they were no match for the magic of these basketball masters!

The game started with a touching moment when the Masters presented the principal of Teunis Dey a signed basketball. This gift is for a student who was in a tragic accident earlier this month. The student is still recovering and the whole town has rallied around him and his family.

The Alliance meets on the first Tuesday of every month. A state grant provides the group with much of its funding. For information on the group and how to join or help, write [email protected] or visit the group’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/WayneAlliance/
