On April 3rd, Wayne Valley health and physical education department hosted the annual wellness fair. Nearby organizations and school clubs came together to create booths in order to spread awareness of mental, physical and emotional health.
Some booths from organizations included domestic violence, Wayne Alliance, mental health services like Aspire, Guardian Recovery, Nami National Alliance on Mental Illness.
Guidance counselor Mr. Imperatore brought his therapy dog Molly and said, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.”
United for Prevention discussed the dangers of vaping and marijuana by asking students trivia on the subject.
Student-ran booths like HOSA, NHS, Tri-M Music Society, SPEAK, Peer Leaders, WeACT, Relay for Life and more. Relay for Life decorated bags to light up during their overnight ceremonies. WeACT promoted “kindness grows” with coloring. Another booth had diamond art to relax students. NHS had stress management tips. There was even a college planning help table available to give information to students applying to college.
Some booths gave out prizes and gadgets like fidget spinners, and by the end of the day, there were not many items left.
