Tired of math class? Sick of science? The Wayne Valley media center has the cure.
Maker’s Week is an event hosted by media centers in schools across the country. After state testing, Wayne Valley’s Maker’s Week was a great way to unwind and relax.
The media center specialist, Mrs. Foster, put together a plethora of activities. On the upper, friends worked together on jigsaw puzzles and bracelets. In the center, blankets were left to cut and tie together. Totes were also there to be decorated by students. These blankets and totes will be donated to those in need. Downstairs activities included rock painting and movies. Some of the most popular activities included two types of bracelet making, block building and the Rubix Cube. Students who solved the Rubix Cube got to spin a wheel to win a prize from Mrs. Foster.
When asked about his favorite activity, eleventh grader Matthew Paladino said marble run. “I like creative things like this,” he exclaimed.
Tenth grader Bella Sinko said , “It’s fun and I loved being creative rather than being in class.”
Eleventh grader, Eli Estevez, agreed, “It was very good to socialize with friends.”
