This year, on March 20, Wayne Valley High School hosted the annual Culinary Competition. The competition showcases the skills and hard work of many young chefs from Wayne Valley and Wayne Hills. Spectators tasted these talented young chefs’ food and voted for their favorite table! This year, Valley had five teams, while Hills had four teams. Each team was allowed to showcase its cooking talents with an appetizer, entrée, side, dessert and a specialty drink. Even more exciting, each team cooks with a certain theme in mind. Themes included Kentucky Derby, Food Trucks, and more!
Wayne Valley’s team, Kentucky Derby, won the people’s choice award. Mrs. Nazarko says, “They had delicious meatballs, shrimp with orzo, and a fun dessert!”
This year raised the most money of any other year. It was over three thousand dollars!
Wayne Valley has won people’s choice three years in a row. Other awards included Asian Pro Start for best menu and entrée. Picnic won best drink.
It was an unforgettable night!
