By now everyone with access to social media or electronic devices has come across the environmental issue of plastic pollution and its long-term consequences on the environment. Plastic pollution is a global problem that goes back thousands of years. Plastic can end up in habitats altering natural processes and reducing the ecosystem’s ability to adapt to climate change. As a result, many ecological campaigns have been created to assist with the collection of plastic that eventually ends up in waterways. 

This issue cannot wait any longer; it must be taken seriously in order to rescue numerous wildlife species and their habitats. To successfully save our environment, everyone must participate and make little changes in their day-to-day lifestyle. It is unfortunate seeing the common man can damage the environment as a result of greed and ambition, but it is on us to shift this mentality into one that inspires the public to preserve the environment and extend the time we have on our planet.
