One of my favorite things in the world is spending time at the beach. Getting to relax in the summer after working all year long not only feels rewarding, but quite peaceful. But where are we supposed to do this? Can I just get in my car and drive to a vacation spot that’s not too far? The answer is yes, you can! Here I will be telling you about some of the best places to vacation while in New Jersey.
Let’s start off with my favorite place of all time, Cape May. I have been going to Cape May every year ever since I was a baby, and I love it more and more each time I go. Cape May is not your average “down the shore” location. It’s not a boardwalk, it’s not noisy, and it’s NOTHING like Seaside Heights. Cape May is a very peaceful, and relaxing place. There are cute little shops to visit, beautiful beaches to relax at, and amazing places to eat. If you go on vacation here, you will not regret it one bit.
But what if you’re the kind of person who only wants to do a day trip to the beach? My favorite place to go to for a quick and easy beach trip is Spring Lake. The beach is beautiful, and it’s an easy place to go to if you only want to go on a day-trip and instead of planning a longer trip. All you have to do is buy your beach pass for the day and simply enjoy your time at the beach. No stress, no rush to get to dinner plans, just a nice day to enjoy with your friends and family.
Another great place to visit is the Silverball Retro Arcade in Asbury Park on the boardwalk. The 2022 edition of NJ Monthly featured this venue down the shore as a Must Visit spot. For a flat fee, you can play pinball, skeeball, air hickey, and video games for just an hour, half day, or the full day. There are over 150 games to choose from ranging from the 1940’s to today. Going to the Silverball is like stepping into a living museum of games that span the history of pinball and gaming.
