Wayne Valley Boys Volleyball is Moving Up

Wayne Valley Boys Volleyball has really been doing great working together as a team and winning games this season, but how much longer will this winning go on for? Will they make it all the way to finals? And what is really keeping this team together and motivated?

Late this April, Wayne Valley’s boys Volleyball team was able to come home with a Clifton Tournament Championship. They were able to defeat Hoboken in the semi-finals with a score of 25-14. After that, they went on to beat the undefeated Hackensack team with a score of 25-21 in the finals. This really is a moving win for the team.

Players had mixed feelings before the actual game. Senior and volleyball player, Brandon Leckner, shared his thoughts prior to the game. “I was nervous going into the game because everyone was watching us and it was the championship game.”

To be good at something, you really need to keep practicing. When Leckner was asked if he thinks the team had enough practice beforehand, he replied, “We played like 7 games already before that game, so I guess you could say we had a lot of practice.” Playing numerous games before can be beneficial to the team as a whole; the more practice the better!

Everyone contributes to the team in multiple different ways. Leckner explains, “I think I contributed what I needed to do, but our team worked great together which helped us get the win!” A good team working together as a whole really is so important, leading to victories!

When you are concentrated and trying your best in something, there are a lot of things that must go through your head. Personally for Leckner, he states, “My thought process was just trying to do my job and just to get to 25 before Hackensack did.”

Surely, the other teammates must have had similar thoughts. Overall, the boys did a great job, and the wins they got really show how great they work together as a team!
