WV Alumni Come Back to Support the Arts!

On Saturday, January 14th, Wayne Valley theater alumni came back to our stage to raise money for the spring musical, Little Women, and the Wayne Valley Theater club. The concert was fun for all. The alumni came together with the current cast to sing songs like Dancing Queen from Mamma Mia and Seasons of Love from Rent

Each alumnus sang one solo. Robert Sharf, graduate of 2017, belted out “Stay” by Rihanna. Jason Tobias from the class of 2020 sang a song from the musical Catch Me If You Can titled “Goodbye.” Wayne graduate and William Paterson student, Sam Pricken, sang the ballad, “What I Did For Love” from A Chorus Line. Both Allison Girardi and Sabrina Shah are still singing even though they graduated from the Wayne Valley Theater years ago. In fact, Sabrina Shah has made a career in singing. Girardi sang the sad song, “Pretty Funny” from the off Broadway musical Dogfight. Sabrina Shah ended the solos with a Sara Bareilles’s fan favorite, “What Baking Can Do” from the acclaimed musical, Waitress

A parent of a current Wayne Valley student said, “This concert has never been done before and it was really well done! And for the alumni to come back, especially those who no longer do this anymore, it was impressive. They all belted out a song.I think it is pretty cool that these alumni came back to support the students and the school. I would love to see even the older generation come back to sing together.” He went on to say, “I think that now that we have seen this level of success, we can really push this for next year and get even more alumni and donations for the current students.”

The proceeds from the concert will go to help the spring musical, Little Women. The Wayne community can see the musical on April 14th, April 15th, and April 16th.
