Quarantine has definitely influenced the lives of all of us. Especially with a lot of extra free time, binge watching and getting caught up on the latest entertainment has become a priority. The moment Disney+ came out in November 2019, the hype for an original, emotion-filled and binge-worthy show skyrocketed. This Disney+ series, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, released its first season back on November 8th, 2019 and is set to release season 2 on May 14th, 2021! In season 1, the cast performed a musical production of High School Musical, and for season 2, the cast is back to perform a production of Beauty and the Beast. Although many doubted how good a show based on the High School Musical movies would be, this series has become a staple for Disney lovers!

Many can agree that Outer Banks saved us in quarantine last year. It became one of the most popular and beloved shows to ever hit Netflix, and exactly at the right time- when we were in a time of isolation from each other and desperately needed an entertaining, action-filled, and amusing show to fill up our day. If you are looking forward to a second season, you can expect good news this year. Although there is no official release date yet, the second season should be coming out before the year ends! 

If you’re looking for some nostalgia, an iconic childhood classic is coming back for a reboot! iCarly is planning to return at the end of 2021 but may be pushed out to the start of 2022, and will even include three of the original characters. Being one of the most popular and funny shows of our childhood, it is sure to be a hit. With Carly, Freddie, and Spencer coming back to the screen, get ready for more laughs as you take a trip back to the past!

After the hit Netflix series, Stranger Things, released its first season on July 15, 2016, it was quick to become a fan favorite! This thrilling series includes a mix of sci-fi, horror, mystery, and supernatural elements and follows the strange events that unfold in the town of Hawkins, Indiana. After the release of seasons 2 and 3, fans have been waiting patiently to hear about the details of the upcoming season. Stranger Things 4 does not have a release date yet, however, it is said that it will be in the fall. 

Despite delays in filming and production that caused many of these shows to get pushed back, it only made fans more eager and excited to see what they’ve planned. 2021 is sure to be filled with a large variety of new releases, and by the looks of things, they are all sure to become crowd favorites!
