Voter Registration Starts!

The first step in order to vote is to fill out the registration form. If you are eligible to vote in New Jersey, you may register to vote at a motor vehicle agency while applying for/renewing a driver’s license or non-driver identification (ID) card. The MVC will report the information to the New Jersey Division of Elections.

Voter registration deadline is 21 days before an election. Voter registration for people who will be 18 for the election on November 3rd begins on May 16th. If you will not be conducting a driver’s license or non-driver ID card transaction and wish to register to vote or change your address with the Division of Elections please visit: New Jersey Division of Elections at www.NJELECTIONS.org or call 1-877-NJVOTER (1-877-658-6837) to have an application mailed to you.

It is also good to do your research on each person running. Becoming an informed voter requires looking at the major party and the third party agendas.  For example, go on each candidate’s websites. Be sure to continually check news stories in regard to the candidates and tune into the televised debates.
