Junior Formal 2020 – Postponed

Just a few short weeks ago the junior class government is hard at work putting finishing touches on their plans for the 2020 Junior Formal but now everyone is unsure about what will come. Although the event was originally scheduled to take place at the Brownstone, a banquet hall in Paterson, on the evening of Friday March 27, 2020, a new date is unknown as of now, given Wayne Valley’s emergency closing. Juniors are still hopeful that the event will take place before the end of the school year!

Year after year, the junior classes continue to celebrate their formal dance in the Spring. From what to wear, to the location, music, theme, decorations, and much more, a lot of thought goes into preparing for the Junior Formal. When asked a few weeks ago about planning for formal, Bridget Gonzalez, the Junior class president, said, “I’m really excited for our formal. We’ve been working really hard to plan the perfect event for our grade. I think everyone will enjoy it.” Bridget also included that this year’s theme is “Old Hollywood” and that decorations will, accordingly, be red, black, and gold.

Junior Formal is an exciting event because it is a chance to dress up and have fun with friends and classmates. Junior Amelia Cooper said that she is looking forward to attending Formal in the Spring. “I’m excited to see what everyone’s wearing,” she said. Whether you will be wearing a sparkly dress or a plain suit, this dance is an opportunity for Juniors, and their dates, to enjoy their time together in a different setting than the usual classrooms.

If you are a junior and want to attend Formal, make sure to pay both the class dues and the Formal due, and hand in the forms to Señora Colon. We are all with the Junior Class when we say that we hope they get to celebrate their formal!
