Fall Recipes

Fall is the season for baking and all things pumpkin, apple, and cinnamon. These tasty treats are perfect for Thanksgiving or fall! They include everything from spicing up the traditional chocolate chip cookie to making caramel apples. These delicious desserts will leave eaters wanting more!

 

  • Caramel Apples
    • Caramel Apples are a fall must try treat! Not only are they easy to make, but they’re also extremely fun to personalize! 
  1. First, unwrap all your caramel candies and place them in a small saucepan. 
  2. Then, place the pan with the candies over medium-low heat and add 2 tablespoons water. Grab a spoon and stir frequently until the candy is completely melted with no lumps. Watch the caramel carefully and don’t let it burn.
  3. Next, put a stick in each of the apples and dip them in the caramel straight out of the pot. Be careful not to burn yourself in the process. The pan and caramel will still be hot!
  4. Add toppings! This step is optional but is a great way to personalize your tasty treats. If you are adding toppings put them in a shallow plate so it is easier to put on. Roll your apple in the toppings.
  5. Put them in the refrigerator and let them cool overnight before you eat. 

 

  • Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies
    • Adding pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice upgrades our basic chocolate chip cookie dough into a delicious fall dessert. 
  1. First, preheat oven to 375° and line two large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Next, in a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, pumpkin spice, and salt.
  3. Then, in a large bowl using a hand mixer, cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in pumpkin, egg, and vanilla extract until combined, then add flour mixture. Beat on low until no raw flour appears, then fold in chocolate chips.
  4. Refrigerate dough for 30 minutes.
  5. Roll dough into balls and put them onto the prepared baking sheet 
  6. Bake until puffed up and golden around edges, about 12 minutes.

 

  • Cinnamon Apple Chips
    •  This is an easy and it’s a delicious healthy snack to have on hand. Use your favorite apple and try slicing them as thinly as you can. 
  1. First, cut the apple of your choice into slices. 
  2. Then, preheat oven to 200°F. In a large bowl, toss apples with sugar and cinnamon.
  3. Place a cooling rack onto a baking sheet. Lay apple slices onto the baking sheet so that no apples overlap. Cook for 2-3 hours, flipping apples halfway through.
  4. Bake until dried out but still pliable. Apple will continue to crisp while cooling. 

 

  • Pumpkin Sugar cookies
    • These pumpkin cookies are cloud-like on the inside and slightly crisp they are on the outside. 
  1. First, preheat oven to 350°F and line two large baking sheet with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, pumpkin pie spice, and salt. 
  2. Then, in a large bowl using a hand mixer, beat butter, sugar, pumpkin, egg, and vanilla until combined. Add dry ingredients and stir until just combined. 
  3. Scoop a tablespoon of cookie dough then roll in sugar. Transfer to prepared baking sheet and repeat with remaining dough, spacing cookies 2 inches apart. 
  4. Bake until cookies are lightly golden, about 10 minutes. Let cool completely. 
  5. Meanwhile, make frosting: In a large bowl, beat all ingredients until smooth and creamy. Frost the top of each cookie with cream cheese frosting and sprinkle with cinnamon. 
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F and line two large baking sheet with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, pumpkin pie spice, and salt. 

 

 

  • Monkey Bread Muffins 
    • This delicious treat will be sure to have guest wanting more. The cinnamon flavor is delicious
  1. Heat oven to 375°F then put a muffin wrappers in each tin slot. 
  2. In a small bowl, stir together the granulated sugar and cinnamon. Separate dough into 8 parts and cut each into 4 pieces. 
  3. Roll biscuits pieces in sugar-cinnamon mixture. Place 8 biscuit pieces in each muffin cup.
  4. In 1-quart saucepan, heat butter, brown sugar and water to boiling, stirring constantly. Cook and stir about 2 minutes or until brown sugar is completely dissolved.
  5. Reserve 2 to 3 tablespoons caramel mixture for drizzling after baking. Spoon remaining caramel mixture over biscuit pieces in muffin cups.
  6. Bake 8 to 11 minutes or just until biscuit pieces are golden brown. Remove from muffin cups; drizzle with reserved caramel mixture. Serve warm.
