The 2025 regular season of the WNBA was the most-watched regular season since 1998. They had an average of about 969,000 viewers on national channels like ESPN, ABC, CBS, and ION. WNBA stands for Women’s National Basketball Association, and to shorten it even more from the acronym, they call it the W. Caitlin Clark and Paige Bueckers are two of the reasons why the WNBA has thrived with viewers over the past 2 years. 

In the final round of the playoffs, the WNBA season is coming to an end. They have an eight-team playoff bracket with three rounds. The eight teams that made the playoffs were the Minnesota Lynx, Las Vegas Aces, Atlanta Dream, Phoenix Mercury, New York Liberty, Indiana Fever, Seattle Storm, and Golden State Valkyries. In the first round, Minnesota played Golden State, Las Vegas played Seattle, Atlanta played Indiana, and Phoenix played the Liberty. There are five games played, which means for the first round and semi-finals, you need to win three to move on. For the final round, it is the best of seven games, so win four games and you win the playoffs. 

The playoffs started September 14th, and now it is in the final round. The two teams that made the finals were the Phoenix Mercury and the Las Vegas Aces. The first two games were played in Las Vegas and the Aces won both of those games. Then, the other two games were played in Phoenix and the Aces won both of those. Since the final round is best of seven games, the Las Vegas Aces were the 2025 WNBA champions. The 2025 WNBA playoffs are now the most-watched playoffs in the league.
