Lehigh University is a private university located in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. It is one of the nation’s best schools, within US News’ Top 50 Universities, known for programs in engineering and business. The university actually has a pleasant town around it, contrary to what I was expecting, having heard of other universities in Pennsylvania lacking a town at all. Perched on a hill, overlooking the town of Bethlehem, Lehigh’s campus has many beautiful, old buildings, although many have been renovated recently. One of these buildings is the Clayton University Center, renovated for the 2025-2026 school year. Another building of note is the Linderman Library, with wooden spiral staircases and banisters. Further up the hill from the main campus are the dorms, stone-brick buildings, along with the main dining hall, with impressive views of the sunset. The only con to Lehigh that I could see is also one of its biggest pluses: the number of hills. While the hills make the university unique and beautiful, it also makes getting to and from class an arduous task. Although there are bus services around campus, most students end up walking. Overall, Lehigh University, located only about an hour and fifteen minute drive away from Wayne, is one to greatly consider in your college application process; as long as you can stand some extra cardio!
