Get Ahead and Save Money with Our Dual Enrollment Programs!

Wayne Valley offers a broad range of classes within the Dual Enrollment program. This program provides students a chance to pay for college credits for the classes they take here at school. Depending on the course you choose, the program can be sponsored by Bergen Community College, Passaic County Community College, William Paterson University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, or Seton Hall University. With this program, you pay a fraction of what you would pay for a normal college course.

For example, an Anatomy and Physiology course here at Valley costs $400 for 4 credits through Seton Hall’s Dual Enrollment program, but if you were to take it one year later at Seton Hall, it would cost $5,440 for 4 credits. The program evidently has incredible saving opportunities for students who opt to join in, especially considering that no extra effort is required. The class operates the same whether you sign up for the credits or not, so entering the program does not cause any extra sweat on your part. It is important to note that this program is entirely optional, so taking a class that is part of the program does not mean that you are required to sign up—it just means that you have the opportunity to do so.

This year, many new developments were made in these programs. The language department has opened up Dual Enrollment programs for seniors in the 4th or 5th level of their language classes. This is a wonderful opportunity for students, as many colleges have language credits as a general requirement. Other classes available for Dual Enrollment include (but are not limited to): Child Development III E, Auto, Honors Computer Programming, CAD II/III E, Anatomy and Physiology H, Legal Studies E, College Business I/II E, and College Composition I/II E. If you’re interested in the program, you can talk with your guidance counselor about your next steps. Even if you do not find this a worthy commitment for your current courses, you should keep it in mind for your later years at Valley, as it is a great opportunity to save a few dollars down the road!
