Book Review: A Book Series to Binge

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Mass is one of my favorite books. This Beauty and the Beast retelling will sweep you off your feet. The beginning may seem a bit slow, but the end of the book, and the rest of the series, is worth every second you spend reading. The book follows the series of events that Feyre, a human woman, falls into. She provides for her poverty-stricken family by hunting game in the woods, but one day, she kills a wolf and her whole world is flipped upside down. A beast comes to retrieve her, revealing that the wolf she killed was a faerie in disguise. As punishment, he rips Feyre away from her family and takes her to the faerie world.

Once she is taken out of the human lands, her captor, Tamlin, reveals he isn’t a beast afterall; he is actually one of the things humans fear: a faerie. As she continues to stay in Tamlin’s estate, Feyre realizes that faeries might not be the malicious creatures they are made out to be. When evil casts a shadow over the faerie lands, Feyre and Tamlin are caught in the middle. Will they continue to grow closer as they look danger in the eyes? Will they be able to save the faeries and their home?
