Flag Football

Wayne Valley introduced Flag football to the school last year. At that time, it was only the second generation of girls to participate in this wonderful sport. This year, the team moved on to our second year and once again brought us to the semi-finals. All the coaches have shown their dedication to this sport as well as their love and passion for it. Wayne Valley ended the season with a total of five wins, two losses, and one tie. The playoffs were tough as many teams had outstanding records, but our girls beat Livingston in the first round, 26-6. Ultimately we lost against Ridgewood, 20-0.

This was a fantastic season overall. And while the team’s season may be over, three of the girls were selected to represent the north team in the 1st ever north vs. south girls flag football all-star game. Congratulations to Marissa Almazi, Giannamarie Greenhalgh, and Bree Starling! If you want to catch the game, it will be on June 11th at Kean University. Congratulations to all the girls this season and we hope you continue to make this team grow and thrive!
