Wayne Valley’s Environmental Club is run by presidents Daniella Fierro and Natalie Alvino. Throughout the 2022/2023 school year, the Environmental Club has done amazing things not just for Wayne Valley, but also for our community.

Right before Halloween, members of the club each painted pumpkins and placed them around the courtyard to decorate for the fall season. Another fun craft the Environmental Club did during the fall was painting fall leaves. On December 1st, the Environmental Club held a food drive where they were looking for non-perishable food items to help those in need get through the cold holiday season. They kept a drive box located in the court yard to collect items like canned soups, peanut butter, jelly, pasta, and other items.

They also made their appearance at Wayne Valley’s Wellness Fair with its beautiful poster. The poster included asking participants at the fair, “How can getting outside improve wellness?” Participants wrote their answer on a post-it note and placed it on the board, creating a beautiful display of many answers. On Earth Day, the members of the club wore blue or green to celebrate and in addition to working hard in the garden, they also celebrated Earth Day with a pizza party.
