Valley Boys Lacrosse Becomes League Champions

 The boy’s lacrosse team upped their game after losing to Jefferson, which was their second loss of the season. On May 16, Valley’s team played Tenafly in the game that would decide the league champion. In the first quarter, Valley was down by one goal. At halftime, they were able to score one point, but the score was still 2-1. During the third quarter of the game, Valley pulled through with a total of five goals and increased it to nine by the fourth quarter. They claimed their victory with the score of 10-4, bringing home the championship title for the first time in Wayne Valley’s history. 

The team really put in the work in teamwork as they all worked really hard to earn the championship. Ryan Schmitz scored three goals and one assist while Alex Scheuplein scored two goals and assisted in two goals. The following players each scored one goal: Logan Custance, Jason Sykes, Nick Rubino, Brayden Dunne, and Michael Burke. Additionally, they won their final game of the regular season on Saturday, May 20th against Paramus.
