Take This Class: Computer Science

Interested in coding but don’t know where or how to start? AP Computer Science Principles is the perfect class to take! Not only do you need no prior knowledge or skills to succeed in this class, but it is a great course to take if you are an underclassman looking to begin your AP journey! But what does this class actually entail? Well for starters, you begin the course by simply learning coding terminology. The teacher (Ms. Schaffer) guides you through the basics of coding in a way that is easy to understand. Then, we use websites (like CMU) to practice what we’ve learned. If you excelled at “Hour of Code” in elementary and middle school, this class helps you digest information in a similar manner and you should definitely consider enrolling. The number of computer science-related jobs is projected to increase by 13% by 2030 and with the increasing growth of the internet, I definitely recommend this class if you are interested in expanding your skill-set, or just want to try something new!
