VALLEY BEATS HILLS: Crosstown Rival Football Game Ends in Victory for the Indians

Friday night was Wayne Valley’s time to shine as the Indians beat our cross-town rivals, the Wayne Hills Patriots.

Both the Indians’ defense and offense seemed to control the field for most of the night at Wayne Hills. Finally, the fifth-seeded Wayne Valley earned its first win over the Patriots in seven years with a final score of 13-6. It is the first time they have had football victory in years! Valley friends, families, and fans all rushed the field at the end of the game.

Coach Kotlarz explained on NJ.com, “Jake’s [DeLuccia’ our leader and he’s been through a lot with this team. This has been a long time coming and the biggest thing for us this week was our week of preparation was outstanding. We had a couple bumps along the way, but the biggest thing is that this team has listened and they have learned from those downfalls, more than any team I’ve had here. They’ve learned from the losses, corrected things that needed to be corrected and that’s why I’m so proud of these guys.”
