Charity Show

On Wednesday, May 22, Wayne Valley Tri-M Music Honors Society hosted their annual 2019 Charity Show. This show provided a variety of amazing acts, including performances from the Wayne Valley Percussion and Brass Quintets as well as students who played the piano, flute, drums, and ukulele. This show also included many singing performances, and an ASL interpretation. When asked about why she decided to be a part of the show, Sabrina Shah (11th grade), who sang Safer from the musical, “First Date”, said, “I decided to be a part of the charity show because I think both charities are great organizations.” Another student, Sophia Monte (12th grade),  who sang Music by JoJo explained, “I love being able to do what I love for a good cause, and it’s amazing to see all of the support”. The participants quickly received an enthusiastic reaction from the crowd.

As said on the back of the show’s program, “The purpose of Wayne Valley’s Tri-M Music Honors Society is to inspire music participation, create enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to render service, and promote leadership in the music students of secondary schools.” This show did an amazing job of raising money for charity through the art of music. Everyone who performed gained a new sense of awareness for charity, and a new understanding of the major impacts that music has on the world. All proceeds made from this concert will be donated to The Trevor Project and The Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation.
