Spring Sports Previews

Girls Lacrosse:

These girls welcomed three new coaches this year who have turned out to be great additions to the program. With an 8 point win over Pequannock in their first scrimmage, these girls hope to continue the momentum into this season’s games. Seniors Bridget Doyle and Kennedy Papa, along with juniors Karli Nevard and Madison Phillips, were recently named captains and have the team working hard with big goals in mind.

Golf:

This year, the golf team has doubled in size: a girls team has been added to Wayne Valley Athletics. Everyone is excited for the new team, already starting off with 6 members. The boys have many returning golfers, including Marc Perez, Zach Barr, and David Tang, who are looking to make this season a success!

Softball:

Softball’s season holds promise with captains Carla Goodwin, Kristina Kowal, and Corrine Tudda leading the way. They started off with a scrimmage against Mount Saint Dominic and are preparing for their first game versus Passaic Valley.

Baseball:

Baseball has seniors Joe Namendorf, Josh Roth, Chris Donohoe, Jake Blumenstyk, Andrew Fanelli, Nick Pellegrino, and Kevin Woll returning for their final season. After finishing with a record of 16-11, the boys are ready to rack up the wins, starting with their first game versus Eastside on April 1st.

Track:

Track is focused on technique and conditioning as the season approaches, although practicing for specialty events has proven difficult due to the weather. They have their team scrimmage on Monday, March 27th, where the team is split in half and they compete against each other. Despite the slow start, they are hopeful for a successful season!
